The appliance was on the floor again.

Every parent who said it said it the same way: quietly, and as a confession. As though a nine-year-old refusing a plastic plate at eleven at night were a verdict on their parenting.

It is not a discipline problem. It is what happens when a plan depends on a child at bedtime.

What we went looking for. Eleven shapes later, that is the pillow. It works on where the head and jaw sit for eight hours, and it asks your child for nothing.

  • block

    It had to need nothing

No straps, no tape, nothing in the mouth, nothing to remember.

  • child_care

It had to fit a child

Shaped to a child’s neck, not an adult’s pillow made smaller.

  • bed

It had to stay on the bed

If it ends up on the carpet like everything else, it is worth nothing.

The clinician who built it with us

    Dr Helen Woods

Airway-focused pediatric dentist, licensed in the United States. Seventeen years specialising in pediatric airways. Co-developer and founding clinical voice of Little Otter.

“Your orthodontist is right, and I want to say that first. Nothing I helped build changes one line of what they are doing.

What I could never answer was the night. Everything I send home asks a child to cooperate, and the profession bills for the daytime. The eight hours are not on the intake form and they are not at the six-week review.

This is the only thing I can hand a parent that works while the child does nothing at all.”

    How we sell this

    • timer_off

      Give you a deadline

Position has no cutoff. A countdown on your child is a sales device, and we are not using one.

    • handshake

      Contradict your clinician

Nothing we sell changes a line of your treatment plan. This is the eight hours, not the sixteen.

    • local_post_office

      Make you post it back

Ninety nights, no form and no photographs. You already have one thing on the carpet.
